Imogen Liu is an assistant professor of international political economy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research and teaching interests are animated by questions surrounding the role of the state in global capitalism and intersect the disciplines of global political economy, geography and development studies. Imogen's research has been published in New Political Economy, Geopolitics, Development and Change, Journal of Economic Geography, Dialogues in Human Geography and Socio-Economic Review among others.

Imogen is an Early Career Representative of the Journals Committee of the Regional Studies Association and co-organiser of Network Q: Asian Capitalisms of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics.
